Morning Glory (Ipomoea purpurea) is an annual herbaceous plant of the Convolvulaceae family, cultivated as a garden flower, appreciated for its exuberant vegetation and its large funnel-shaped flowers. It is a species native to tropical regions (Mexico, Central America).

It is a perennial herbaceous plant in its area of ​​origin by its tuberous strain, but cultivated as an annual. It is climbing thanks to its twining stems and can reach 2 to 3 meters high. The funnel-shaped flowers of purple color are grouped by 3 to 5 in small cymes. Be careful, the fruits contain hallucinogenic and toxic seeds. Above all, do not consume.

Of simple culture, Purple Morning Glory is sown by 3 or 4 seeds in a permanent pot, in a sandy substrate. Cover the seeds with one centimeter of substrate, then cover the pot with a plastic film and place it in a place with a temperature of 20-35°C. Keep the substrate slightly moist until the appearance of young plants.
